Good Afternoon 5th Graders!
In science class this week we have been discussing different types of rocks. We learned that rocks are classified according to their method of formation. You were each assigned one of the three classes of rocks (sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous) in class today. You are responsible for posting information about your assigned rock on this blog. Research your specific rock on the internet and create a post on this blog.
Make sure that your post has the following information:
Title: Your title should state the type of rock classification that you were assigned.
1) Definition of either a sedimentary, metamorphic, or igneous rock.
2) One or two images of this type of rock.
3) A short description explaining:
a) What is a sedimentary, metamorphic, or igneous rock?
b) How is this rock formed?
c) The names of two different sedimentary, metamorphic, or igneous rocks.
4) A link to the website(s) where we can find out more information about this type of rock and how it is formed.
Reminder: You are only writing about the 1 rock classification that you were assigned to in class today.
